## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON APPROCH TO KFZY PILOT STATED HE TURNED ON THE CARBURATOR HEAT AND THE ENGINE LOST POWER. HE THEN TURNED HEAT OFF AND POWER RESTORED FOR A FEW SECONDS, THEN LOST POWER AGAIN. HEAT WAS TURNED BACK ON, BUT ENGINE POWER WOULD NOT RESTORE. PILOT TRIED TO LAND ON ROAD, BUT RIGHT WING HIT A POWER POLE AND AIRCRAFT FELL TO THE STREET. AIRCRAFT HAD FUEL LEAKING UPON ARRIVING. PILOT STATED 12 TO 14 GALLONS ON BOARD.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA19LA151](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA19LA151), Apr 11, 2019: Cessna 150 (N3795J), Fulton, NY, substantial damage. Probable cause: A total loss of engine power due to carburetor icing. Contributing was the pilot’s failure to leave the carburetor heat on fully after his initial application of carburetor heat.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
