## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT AND PASSENGER LANDED IN WALL AND ATE BREAKFAST THEN TAXIED FOR TAKEOFF AND AS THEY WERE ROTATING THE NOSE GEAR WAS OFF THE GROUND AND THE LEFT MAIN GEAR HIT SOME SLUSH ON THE RUNWAY WHICH TURNED THE AIRCRAFT ENOUGH THAT THE PILOT RAN OFF THE RUNWAY HITING A BIGGER SNOW BANK AND CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO DROP TO THE GROUND. THE NOSE GEAR HAD COLLAPSED. BOTH WINGS WERE DAMAGED AND THE PROP WAS ALSO DAMAGED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA19CA217](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA19CA217), Apr 14, 2019: Vans Vans RV-12 (N277E), Wall, SD, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper decision to depart from a slush-covered runway, which resulted in a loss of directional control, a runway excursion, and a subsequent nose-over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
