PILOT WAS DOING TOUCH-AND-GO LANDINGS AT THE AIRPORT AND ON DOWNWIND WAS ASKED BY ATC IF HE COULD ACCEPT A SHORT APPROACH. HE ACCEPTED THE SHORT APPROACH AND TURNED BASE EARLY MAKING FOR A SHORT FINAL APPROACH. HE WAS DISTRACTED BY THE REQUEST AND LOOKING FOR THE OTHER TRAFFIC AND FORGOT TO EXTEND THE LANDING GEAR.
