## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER LANDING THE COPILOT AND DEPUTY EXITED THE AIRCRAFT AND WALKED TO THE FBO TO GET FUEL. COPILOT WAS TOLD THE FUEL TRUCK WAS INOPERATIVE AND THE AIRCRAFT WOULD HAVE TO MOVE TO THE FUEL FARM. THE COPILOT WALKED BACK TO THE AIRCRAFT AND TOLD THE PILOT TO AIR TAXI TO THE FUEL PUMP. AS THE AIRCRAFT LIFTED OFF THE SLOPE IT STARTED A SPIN TO THE RIGHT. PILOT COULD NOT STOP THE SPIN WITH LEFT PEDAL BECAUSE IT WAS JAMMED. THE AIRCRAFT SPINNING WAS INCREASING SO POWER WAS REDUCED AND THE COLLECTIVE LOWERED. THE SKID CAUGHT GROUND AND CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO ROLL AND THE TAIL ROTOR STRUCK THE GROUND. SUBSEQUENT MOTION DESTROYED THE AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA19CA403](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA19CA403), Jun 26, 2019: Md Helicopter 369 (N500SC), Summersville, SC, substantial damage. Probable cause: The copilot’s disabling of the flight controls of an operating helicopter without telling the pilot on the controls, which resulted in a subsequent loss of control and collision with terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
