## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THREE WITNESS STATEMENTS AGREE THAT THE PILOT WAS PRACTICING SPRAY PASSES OVER THE RUNWAY. LAST PASS WAS FROM WEST TO EAST. PILOT PULLED UP ABRUPTLY AND ENTERED A STEEP TURN WITH LOW ENERGY AND SPEED. HE LEVELED THE WINGS BRIEFLY AND REESTABLISHED THE TURN. THE PLANE THEN DESCENDED IN A 60-70 DEGREE BANK TO THE SURFACE. THE AIRPLANE WAS HEAVILY DAMAGED AND THE PILOT WAS UNCONSCIOUS. HE SUSTAINED SERIOUS INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN19LA225](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN19LA225), Jul 14, 2019: Cessna T188 (N2863J), Knox, IN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's exceedance of the airplane's critical angle of attack, which resulted in an aerodynamic stall and loss of airplane control.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
