## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JULY 15, 2015, THE PILOT RETURNED WITH HIS SECOND LOAD TO CONTINUE SPRAYING. HE REPORTS EVERYTHING WAS THE SAME AS WHEN SPRAYING THE FIRST LOAD WHILE LOW IN THE VALLEY. HE REPORTS THERE WAS A THUNDERSTORM IN THE DISTANCE, BUT BELIEVED IT WASN?T CLOSE ENOUGH TO AFFECT HIS FLYING. WHEN MAKING A TURN FOR ANOTHER PASS, HE FLEW UP OVER THE RIDGE LINE AND WAS HIT WITH UNEXPECTED TAIL WIND FROM THE DIRECTION OF THE THUNDERSTORM. THE AIRCRAFT STALLED AT A LOW ALTITUDE INSUFFICIENT TO RECOVER, RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT THAT DESTROYED THE AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA19CA437](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA19CA437), Jul 15, 2019: Piper PA36 (N57799), Bancroft, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's exceedance of the airplane's critical angle of attack during a low-altitude turn, which resulted in an aerodynamic stall.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
