## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING AERIAL APPLICATION OPERATIONS, THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED ANTENNA TOWER GUY WIRES. THE GUY WIRES EVENTUALLY BROKE AND THE PILOT WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER THE AIRCRAFT AND LAND IN A BEAN FIELD. THE PILOT WAS THE ONLY PERSON ON BOARD AND WAS NOT INJURED. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SIGNIFICANT ENGINE AND PROPELLER DAMAGE. THE RIGHT WING TIP WAS SEPARATED FROM THE WING DURING THE EVENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA19CA480](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA19CA480), Aug 4, 2019: Air Tractor AT502 (N730JD), Waco, NE, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain clearance from wires during an agricultural application flight.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
