## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING THE TAKEOFF ROLL THE AIRCRAFT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE ABOVE 70 KNOTS SO THE PILOT DECIDED TO ABORT THE TAKEOFF. THE AIRCRAFT VEERED TO THE LEFT, EXITED THE RUNWAY AND CAME TO REST APPROXIMATELY 800 FEET BEYOND THE DEPARTURE END OF RUNWAY 1.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR19LA247](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR19LA247), Aug 31, 2019: Cessna 510 (N551WH), El Monte, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to disengage the parking brake before takeoff, which resulted in decreased acceleration and a subsequent runway overrun following an aborted takeoff.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
