## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT WAS GOING TO PRACTICE AN ABORTED TAKEOFF AND DID NOT INTEND TO BE AIRBORNE. THE AIRCRAFT DID BREAK GROUND AND BECAME AIRBORNE. DUE TO GROUND EFFECT, HE COULD NOT PUT THE AIRCRAFT BACK DOWN IMMEDIATELY. BY THE TIME HE GOT THE AIRPLANE BACK ON THE RUNWAY HE DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH DISTANCE TO STOP THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT PASSED THE END OF THE RUNWAY AND FLIPPED OVER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA19CA522](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA19CA522), Sep 1, 2019: Stinson 108 (N97699), Bandera, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's selection of unsuitable terrain for a simulated rejected takeoff, which resulted in a runway overrun and noseover.

## Other reports on N97699 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19790220007499I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19790220007499I), Feb 20, 1979: Univar 108 (N97699), Seattle, WA, Minor damage. Goundloop on landing rollout.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
