## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER A SUCCESSFUL LANDING WITH THE GEAR IN THE DOWN POSITION DURING LANDING ROLLOUT THE PASSENGER TRIED TO ASSIST THE PILOT IN BRINGING UP THE FLAPS AND ACCIDENTLY MOVED THE GEAR LEVER UP.

THE GEAR RETRACTED AND THE AIRCRAFT SLID DOWN THE RUNWAY FOR ABOUT 690 FEET.

THE PASSENGERS STATEMENT ALSO CONFIRMS WHAT THE PILOT SAID ABOUT HIM INADVERTENTLY MOVING THE WRONG SWITCH.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA19CA291](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA19CA291), Sep 13, 2019: Beech 55 (N854T), Sebring, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The passenger’s inadvertent retraction of the landing gear during the landing roll without being instructed to do so by the pilot.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
