## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE PERFORMING TOUCH AND GO LANDINGS AT CPK, AIRCRAFT CLIMBED TO 300 FEET AND EXPERIENCED A COMPLETE POWER LOSS. PILOT EXECUTED AN EMERGENCY LANDING APPROXIMATELY 1 MILE NE OF AIRPORT IN A BEAN FIELD. THE AIRCRAFT WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED WHEN IT IMPACTED A DRAINAGE DITCH IN THE FIELD.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA19LA272](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA19LA272), Sep 15, 2019: Diamond DA40 (N292RA), Norfolk, VA, substantial damage. Probable cause: A partial loss of engine power due to the mechanic's failure to properly tighten the two clamps securing the flexible coupling from the intercooler to the induction inlet.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
