## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ STATED THAT AFTER LANDING ON THE GRAVEL ROAD ON HIS PROPERTY, HE SLOWED THE AIRPLANE ABRUPTLY AND APPLIED TOO MUCH RIGHT BRAKE. THE AIRPLANE VEERED TO THE RIGHT INTO THE WEEDS AND A SMALL DITCH. HE THEN APPLIED MORE POWER TO FORCE THE AIRPLANE OUT OF THE WEEDS AND BACK ONTO THE ROAD, BUT THE AIRPLANE NOSED OVER.

HE STATED THERE WERE NO PRE-IMPACT MECHANICAL FAILURES OR MALFUNCTIONS WITH THE AIRFRAME OR ENGINE THAT WOULD HAVE PRECLUDED NORMAL OPERATION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA19CA586](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA19CA586), Sep 27, 2019: Piper PA 12 (N3985M), Williams, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's over application of power during recovery from a runway excursion, which resulted in a ground loop and nose over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
