## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

N86MN REPORTED A NOSE GEAR ISSUE AFTER DEPARTING NAPLES AIRPORT (APF) AND ELECTED TO DIVERT TO FORT MYERS AIRPORT (RSW). AFTER CIRCLING FOR APPROXIMATELY THREE HOURS TO BURN OFF FUEL, THE AIRCRAFT LANDED NOSE GEAR UP ON RUNWAY 06 AT 23:02. THERE WERE FOUR SOULS ON BOARD. NO INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA20LA008](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA20LA008), Oct 8, 2019: Raytheon Hawker (N86MN), Fort Myers, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: Maintenance personnel's improper installation of the nose landing gear assembly, which resulted in separation of the actuator arm and the failure of a nose landing gear to lock in place.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
