ON OCTOBER 22, 2019 AT LAX, A HAWAIIAN B-787 WAS TAXING ALONG TAXIWAY C IN FRONT OF ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ EN ROUTE TO LAX-GUA. AT THE TIME THAT THE B-787

ENTER TAXIWAY LAUNCHED FOD FROM AN ASPHALT LAYER IMPACTING THE FIRST OFFICER WINDSHIELD (DB) WINDOW CAUSING SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE THAT CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO RETURN TO PLATFORM GATE 155 FOR MAINTENANCE REVIEW. THE PASSENGERS WERE DISSEMBARKED AND THE FLIGHT WAS CANCELLED. TOTAL COST OF REPAIRS FOR DV WINDOW REPLACEMENT $7,700.THE EVENT WAS NOTIFIED TO LAX ATC TOWER.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
