## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

STUDENT PILOT TOUCHED DOWN ON CENTERLINE THEN STARTED VEERING TO THE LEFT. INSTRUCTOR PILOT INSTRUCTED THE STUDENT TO APPLY RIGHT RUDDER MULTIPLE TIMES. THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED TO VEER LEFT OF CENTERLINE. AFTER THE THIRD RUDDER COMMAND, THE INSTRUCTOR PILOT CALLED FOR A GO-AROUND. THE STUDENT PILOT INITIATED A GO-AROUND PROCEDURE BUT THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED VEERING TO THE LEFT. THE AIRCRAFT WENT OFF THE RUNWAY INTO THE DIRT CAUSING THE LANDING GEAR TOCOLLAPSE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DCA20CA028](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DCA20CA028), Nov 25, 2019: General Atomics MQ-9 (N341HK), Palmdale, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: Incorrect control inputs by the student pilot during a crosswind landing, resulting in control saturation and a runway excursion.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
