## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT N962SS WAS ON APPROACH TO KVNY. ATC ADVISED THAT THERE WAS MODERATE TO SEVERE TURBULENCE. THE FLIGHT CREW NOTIFIED THE CABIN SERVER TO TAKE A SEAT. WHEN SHE DID NOT TAKE A SEAT, THEY CONTINUED TO NOTIFY HER AND THEN MOTIONED HER TO TAKE A SEAT. WHILE SHE WAS WALKING TO HER SEAT THE AIRCRAFT HIT TURBULENCE, AND SHE FLEW UP OFF THE FLOOR AND HIT THE CEILING, THEN DROPPED TO THE FLOOR AND BROKE HER LEG. THE CREW NOTIFIED ATC TO HAVE PARAMEDICS WAITING AT THE RAMP TO MEET THE AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR20CA069](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR20CA069), Jan 2, 2020: Gulfstream G IV (N962SS), Van Nuys, CA, no damage. Probable cause: The airplane’s encounter with turbulence during descent, which resulted in a serious injury to a flight attendant.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
