## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING GO-AROUND MANEUVER ON THE 024 END OF THE RUNWAY, CFI NOTICED A LACK OF POWER, LOW ENGINE RPM (2100) AND AIRSPEED DETERIORATING TO 70 KTS WITH AN ASSOCIATED OSCILLATORY NOISE EMANATING FROM ENGINE WHICH GREW IN INTENSITY AS THEY PROCEEDED DOWN THE RUNWAY . CFI TOOK CONTROL OF AIRCRAFT, VERIFIED INSTRUMENT, THROTTLE AND MIXTURE SETTINGS - FULL AND RICH. CFI INITIATED A SHALLOW BANK LEFT-HAND TURN BUT COULD NOT MAINTAIN ALTITUDE DUE TO ERODING AIRSPEED. WHILE STILL IN A LOW ANGLE BANK, THE LEFT WING-TIP CONTACTED THE GROUND FOLLOWED BY THE LEFT MLG, NOSE GEAR, WHICH DISLODGED FROM THE AIRCRAFT, RIGHT MLG, AND PROPELLER, WHICH ALSO SHEERED ONE BLADE THEN CONTINUED ON A PATH FOR APPROXIMATELY 118 YARDS PAST THE INITIAL IMPACT POINT. THE PATH OF THE AIRCRAFT WAS APPROXIMATELY 30 DEGREES SOUTH-EAST IN RELATIONSHIP TO RNWY HEADING 09, (120 MAGNETIC) AND APPROXIMATELY 300 YARDS DISPLACED FROM THE CENTERLINE.
