## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JANUARY 20, 2020 AT APPROXIMATELY 1200 CST, N4763X, A CESSNA 150G, CRASHED 7 MILES EAST OF JACKSONVILLE, TX AIRPORT (JSO) WITH ONLY THE PILOT ONBOARD. THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED A SUPPORT WIRE OF A RADIO TOWER, WHICH SEVERED THE OUTBOARD 3 FEET OF THE LEFT WING. THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED FLYING FOR A SHORT DISTANCE BEFORE IMPACTING THE GROUND VERTICALLY. THE AIRCRAFT WAS DESTROYED BY IMPACT AND THE PILOT RECEIVED FATAL INJURIES. THE WEATHER WAS CLEAR WITH VISIBILITY GREATER THAN 10 MILES WITH LIGHT WINDS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR20FA067](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR20FA067), Jan 20, 2020: Cessna 150 (N4763X), Jacksonville, TX, destroyed, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain clearance from guy wires associated with a tower while maneuvering at low altitude.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
