## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PRIOR TO FAA ARRIVAL ACCIDENT SCENE WAS TAMPERED WITH BY AIRCRAFT OWNER WHICH IS ALSO PILOTS DAD, INLUE OF GOING TO HOSPITAL. THE PILOT REPORTS WHILE RETURNING TO JOURDANTON, TX HE SPOTTED FERAL HOGS IN A PASTURE. HE THEN STATES WITH SUN IN EYES AND DUST FROM FIELD HE MADE A PEDAL TURN WHICH CAUSED TAIL ROTOR TO HIT POWER LINES NEXT TO ROAD. PILOT ELIMINATED ALTITUDE AND CRASH APPROX. 30' FROM POWER LINE. THE ACCIDENT SCENE DETAIL SHOWS FERAL HOG TRAIL APPROX. 40' FROM ROAD AND RUNNING PARALLEL. THE ROTORCRAFT WAS LOCATED BETWEEN TRAIL AND POWER LINES. FOR THE ROTOR CRAFT TAIL WHEEL TO STRIKE POWER LINE THE PILOT WOULD NOT HAVE SUN IN EYES BUT WOULD HAVE VISUAL OF HOGS AND TRAIL. IT IS HIGHLY POSSIBLE THE PILOT'S ATTENTION WAS ON THE HOGS AND TAIL ROTOR LOCATION WAS LAPSED. INSPECTION OF AIRCRAFT INTERIOR LOCATED SPENT 7.62 CASINGS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

- [NTSB CEN20LA066](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN20LA066), Jan 24, 2020: Robinson R22 (N8364Y), Charlotte, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain clearance from a powerline during landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
