## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT LANDED ON RUNWAY 08 TOUCHING DOWN APPROXIMATELY (PER PILOT) 750 FEET FROM NUMBERS AT 70 KNOTS. AT APPROXIMATELY 1900 FEET FROM THE RUNWAY NUMBERS THE LEFT MAIN GEAR STARTED TO SKID (BRAKE APPLIED). SUBSEQUENT TIRE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE AIRCRAFT VEERED LEFT AND EXITED THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT TRAVELED ANOTHER APPROXIMATE 600 FEET BEFORE HITTING A WATER DRAINAGE DITCH. THE LEFT MAIN GEAR HIT THE DITCH FIRST SPINNING THE AIRCRAFT TO THE RIGHT FORCING THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT TO HIT THE SAME DITCH. THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED DUE TO IMPACT WITH THE TERRAIN.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA20LA109](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA20LA109), Feb 15, 2020: Rockwell 112 (N377SB), Knoxville, TN, substantial damage. Probable cause: A loss of directional control during landing following deflation of a flat-spotted tire for reasons that could not be determined based on available evidence.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
