## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON FEBRUARY 28, 2020, AT 1225 MST, A FREDRICK WAGONER WAIEX, N555WX, REGISTERED TO ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, EXPERIENCED AN ENGINE FAILURE JUST AFTER TAKEOFF ON RUNWAY 8 AT LAS CRUCES, NM AIRPORT (LRU) AND LANDED IN A CATTLE PASTURE JUST OFF THE DEPARTURE END OF THE RUNWAY, WHILE ON A PLEASURE FLIGHT. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME AND A VFR FLIGHT PLAN WAS NOT FILED. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE AND THE PILOT WAS NOT INJURED. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED AT LAS CRUCES, NM AIRPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
