## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE LANDING TO THE SOUTH ON RWY 18, AT HARVEY AIRPORT MO35, AIRCRAFT N7525W MADE A HARD LANDING AND BOUNCED. AFTER THE BOUNCE, A GUST OF WIND CAUSED PILOT TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT AND RUN OFF RUNWAY INTO THE ADJACENT TREES ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. AIRCRAFT RAN INTO TREES WHICH CAUSED THE LEFT WING TO BE SEPARATED FROM THE AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN20CA117](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN20CA117), Mar 8, 2020: Piper PA28-180 (N7525W), Eolia, MO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper landing flare in gusting wind conditions, which resulted in a bounced landing, loss of directional control, runway excursion, and impact with a tree.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
