## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT REPORTED THAT HE HAD RECENTLY PURCHASED THE AIRCRAFT AND WAS NOT FULLY FAMILIAR WITH THE OPERATION AND FLIGHT CHARACTERISTICS OF THAT MAKE AND MODEL. REPORTED THAT UPON ARRIVAL TO KRDD WINDS WERE GUSTING TO 32 KTS AND MAY HAVE CREATED A DISTRACTION AND INAPPROPRIATE FLAP SETTING. THIS CAUSED AS HE TERMED, POI, PILOT INDUCED OCCILATION. THIS CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO LAND HARD, COLLAPSING THE FIXED LANDING GEAR, DAMAGING THE PROPELLER AND MINOR DAMAGE TO THE LEADING EDGE OF THE COWLING. PILOT DID NOT REPORT INJURIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
