## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE STUDENT PILOT WAS CURRENTLY RECEIVING TRAINING UNDER PART 61 FROM A CFI. ON THIS PARTICULAR DAY SHE HAD COMPLETED SEVERAL TOUCH AND GO'S WITH HER INSTRUCTOR IN PREPARING TO CONDUCT HER FIRST SOLO FLIGHT IN THE SAME MAKE/MODEL AIRCRAFT.

WHILE CONDUCTING HER THIRD SOLO LANDING ATTEMPT SHE LOST CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT AND EXITED THE RUNWAY AND WENT ON THE SOFT FIELD. SHE HIT THE TIP OF THE AIRCRAFT'S RIGHT WING ON A WINDSOCK POLE. AFTER HITTING A BIRM AND CROSSING A DITCH, THE PROPELLER CONTACTED THE GROUND. AFTER THAT, THE AIRCRAFT SPUN ABOUT 250 DEGREES AND I CAME TO A FULL STOP.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR20CA138](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR20CA138), Mar 13, 2020: Piper PA 28-180 (N15756), Tucson, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot's loss of directional control during landing, which resulted in a runway excursion, collision with a pole, and a subsequent ground loop.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
