## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MARCH 24, 2020 EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT N47HM WAS FORCED TO MAKE A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING ON THE MOHAVE RIVER APPROXIMATELY 10 MILES SOUTH OF THE BARSTOW CA AREA. THE AIRCRAFT WAS IN THE FIRST TEN HOURS OF THE MANDATORY TEST FLIGHT PHASE AFTER COMPLETION AND THE PILOT WAS DOING MANAUVERS TO INCLUDE A STALL SERIES TO TEST THE FLIGHT CHARACTERISTICS OF THE AIRCRAFT. AT THAT TIME THE ENGINE QUIT RUNNING AND COULD NOT BE RESTARTED. THE PILOT FOUND A SUITABLE LANDING SPOT ON THE MOJAVE RIVER BED AND LANDED WITH NO INJURIES OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. THE LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS NOTIFIED ALONG WITH THE RIVERSIDE FSDO AND NTSB. THE AIRCRAFT WAS DISASSEMLED AND REMOVED FROM THE RIVERBED ON THE SAME DAY. AT THIS TIME, THE CAUSE OF THE ENGINE FAILURE HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
