## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

INSTRUCTOR ^VOWELS^ WAS MONITORING STUDENT PILOT'S ATTEMPT AT LANDING ON RUNWAY 29. FIRST TOUCHDOWN RESULTED IN A BOUNCE. INSTRUCTOR'S RECOVERY ACTIONS WERE NOT SUFFICIENT AND SECOND TOUCHDOWN RESULTED IN SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA20CA165](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA20CA165), Mar 30, 2020: Cessna 172 (N957TC), New Symrna Beach, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The flight instructor's delayed remedial action and decision to not go-around after a bounced landing, which resulted in an inadvertent stall and hard landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
