## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE OPERATING IN A RURAL AREA, SCOUTING FOR CATTLE, THE TAIL ROTOR CONTACTED A TREE LIMB, INDUCING A RIGHT YAW. THE YAW WAS ARRESTED BY REDUCING POWER AS HE MOVED TO A MORE OPEN AREA AND SET DOWN. THE LANDING WAS HARD ENOUGH TO DAMAGE A LANDING SKID. LAND OWNER DEMANDED THE AIRCRAFT BE MOVED FROM THE PROPERTY. IT WAS LOADED ONTO A TRANSPORT TRAILER AND MOVED TO THE PILOT'S HANGAR.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN20CA144](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN20CA144), Apr 6, 2020: Robinson R22 (N7007X), Seymour, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain clearance from a tree while maneuvering at low altitude.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
