## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

UPON TAKEOFF FROM DAYTONA INTERNATI0NAL AIRPORT AND CLIMBING THROUGH 600' AGL THE PILOT SMELLED A STRONG ODER OF SMOKE AND REQUESTED AN IMMEDIATE LANDING BACK AT DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. BEFORE LANDING THE PASSENGER WHICH WAS THE CAMERA OPERATOR WITNESSED SPARKS BEHIND THE AIRCRAFT INSTRUMENT PANEL AND USED THE AIRCRAFT FIRE BOTTLE TO EXTINGUISH. AIRCRAFT LANDING WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. THERE WAS NO AIRCRAFT DAMAGE BEYOND A SMALL AMOUNT OF BURNT SOOT CAUSED BY AN AUXILIARY PORT WIRE THAT WAS LOOSE FROM A BROKEN TIE STRAP CAUSING SPARKS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
