## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 4/21/2019 AT APPROXIMATELY 1315 CDT, CIVIL AIRCRAFT N46743, A CESSNA 172, EXPERIENCED ENGINE ISSUES WHILE DESCENDING FOR THE ANTLERS AIRPORT (80F) AND WAS FORCED TO LAND IN A FIELD 5 MILES SOUTH OF ANTLERS, OK. NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND NO INJURIES REPORTED. FUEL IN THE LEFT WING WAS 13 GALLONS AND RIGHT WING WAS 18 GALLONS. THE AIRMAN STATED THAT THE ENGINE STARTED LOSING POWER ON DESCENT. WHEN ASKED WHAT HE DID TO TRY AND KEEP IT RUNNING OR RESTART, HE NEVER ONCE MENTIONED THE CARBURETOR HEAT. WHEN ASKED IF HE EVER TURNED IT ON, THERE WAS A LONG PAUSE AND A NO.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
