## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

N25HE A CESSNA T240 ON MAY 6, 2020 WAS ON A FLIGHT FROM PARAGOULD, AR (KPGR) TO GONZALES, TX (T20). WEATHER WAS REPORTED AS CLEAR, 87 DEGREES AND WIND FROM 080 AT 13KTS WITH GUSTS TO 20 KNOTS. AT 4,000 FEET AND APPROXIMATELY 10 MILES NORTH OF T20 WITH THE AIRPORT IN SIGHT, PILOT ENTERED TRAFFIC PATTERN FOR RUNWAY 33 FROM THE NORTHEAST ON A RIGHT DOWNWIND TRAFFIC PATTERN. FINAL APPROACH SPEED WAS APPROXIMATELY 130KTS SO SPEED BRAKES WERE USED TO SLOW THE AIRCRAFT. AIRCRAFT CONTACTED THE RUNWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 100KTS, AND 1/3 DOWN THE RUNWAY. PILOT AFTER REALIZING HE WAS UNABLE TO STOP BEFORE THE END OF THE RUNWAY, INITIATED A GO AROUND, UNABLE TO GENERATE ENOUGH LIFT, PILOT THEN DECIDED TO ABORT THE GO AROUND RESULTING IN LEAVING THE RUNWAY CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE LANDING GEAR AND A PROPELLER STRIKE. AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST APPROXIMATELY 200 YARDS FROM THE END OF THE RUNWAY. APPROXIMATE FUEL ON BOARD WAS 50%, NO POST-CRASH FIRE AND PILOT REPORTED NO INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN20LA174](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN20LA174), May 6, 2020: Cessna T240 (N25HE), Gonazales, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to retract the speedbrakes during a delayed go-around attempt, which resulted in a runway excursion.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
