## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PIC, WAS FLYING HIS REGISTERED AIRCRAFT, N4761T, FOR PERSONAL TRAVEL. UPON PREPARING TO LAND AT KHWD, THE PIC LOWERED HIS LANDING GEAR, AND NOTICED THE LANDING GEAR INDICATOR DID NOT DISPLAY THREE GREEN LIGHTS, WITH THE NOSE GEAR POSITION REMAINING RED.

THE PIC CYCLED HIS LANDING GEAR A SECOND TIME WITHOUT CHANGE IN INDICATION. EMERGENCY MANUAL HAND PUMP PROCEDURES FOLLOWED, STILL WITHOUT CHANGE OF INDICATION.

THE NOSE GEAR LIGHT REMAINED RED AND THE MAIN GEAR INDICATED GREEN.

THE PIC MADE REQUEST TO THE KHWD ATCT TO COMPLETE A TOWER FLY-BY FOR VISUAL VERIFICATION OF THE LANDING GEAR DOWN POSITION. ATCT CONFIRMED THE GEAR APPEARED TO BE IN THE DOWN POSITION AND CLEARED THE PIC TO LAND.

THE PILOT LANDED UN-EVENTFULLY ON KHWD 28L. ONCE ON THE GROUND AND WITH THE TAXI SPEED LOWERED, THE PIC THEN EXITED THE ACTIVE RUNWAY (28L) ONTO THE TAXI WAY WHEN THE NOSE LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED, AND THE PROPELLER AND NOSE COWLING STRIKING THE GROUND. THE PIC NOTIFIED KHWD ATCT AND COORDINATED EFFORTS TO REMOVE THE AIRCRAFT OFF THE ACTIVE RUNWAY AND TAXIWAYS.

LOCAL FACILITATORS WHERE ABLE TO MANUALLY SECURE THE LANDING GEAR AND TOWED THE AIRCRAFT TO A LOCAL MAINTENANCE PROVIDER. THE PILOT WAS UN-INJURED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
