## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT WAS ATTEMPTING TO LAND HIS AIRCRAFT, N5573X, AT COOK STRIP SOUTH OF WILLOWS, CA ON MAY 24, 2020. AFTER HE LANDED HE TAPPED THE BRAKES AND THE AIRCRAFT SHOT LEFT DRIFTING HARD AND FAST. THE PILOT DECIDED TO ATTEMPT A GO AROUND. HE POWERED UP AND BANKED TO THE RIGHT TO AVOID THE COUNTY ROAD. HE THEN DRIFTED INTO THE POWER LINES THAT RUN PARALLEL TO COUNTY ROAD F. THE AIRCRAFT CARTWHEELED, SPUN AROUND AND THE TAIL SECTION LANDED ON THE EDGE OF THE ROAD.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR20CA153](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR20CA153), May 23, 2020: Ayres S 2R (N5573X), Artois, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain clearance from power lines during a go-around.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
