## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT ARRIVED TO THE AIRPORT AT 18:45 L ON 05/24/2020. PILOT USED TO BASE OLDER AIRCRAFT (HIGH-WING) AT FIELD AND WAS FAMILIAR WITH GENERAL ORIENTATION. UPON ENTERING LEFT TRAFFIC FOR RUNWAY 24 (WINDS FAVORED) A SLIGHTLY HIGH APPROACH WAS MADE TO ENSURE CLEARING TREES ON THE APPROACH END OF RUNWAY. UPON CLEARING TREES AND ENTERING THE FLARE PILOT STATED THAT THE AIRCRAFT FLOATED FURTHER THAN EXPECTED (LAST AIRCRAFT OWNED WAS A HIGH WING). DUE TO HIGH TEMPERATURES, LIGHTER HEADWIND THAN EXPECTED AND MORE PRONOUNCED GROUND EFFECT MORE RUNWAY WAS USED. AT THIS POINT PILOT INDICATED THAT A GO AROUND WOULD NOT HAVE ALLOWED HIM TO CLEAR THE TREES ON THE DEPARTURE END OF RUNWAY. COMMITTED, HE LANDED THE AIRCRAFT, OVERRAN THE RUNWAY AND ATTEMPTED TO STEER ONTO THE ROAD BEFORE COMING TO REST ON SMALL EMBANKMENT ON OTHER SIDE OF ROADWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
