## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT OF A MOONEY M20K FLYING AT CRUISE FLIGHT OVER TWENTYNINE PALMS, CA EXPERIENCED ENGINE SURGES AND LOSS OF ENGINE POWER. THE PILOT MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING AT THE CROSSWINDS AIRPORT (2CA3) RUNWAY 10 AND OVERRAN THE END OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT THEN HIT A DIRT BERM, WHICH CAUSED THE NOSE GEAR TO COLLAPSE AND COME TO REST. THE PILOT WAS THE SOLE PERSON ON BOARD, NO INJURIES REPORTED, AND THE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT WAS MINOR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
