## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT WAS ON TAKEOFF CLIMB FROM RUNWAY 11 WHEN THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK A POWERLINE RESULTING FROM A WIND SHEAR. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST AT A HEADING OF 354 DEGREES AS INDICATED ON MAGNETIC COMPASS, ADJACENT TO A TREELINE IN AN EMPTY GRASS FIELD, APPROXIMATELY 550 YARDS FROM THE END OF RUNWAY OFF TO THE LEFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR20CA160](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR20CA160), May 28, 2020: Champion 7ECA (N9557S), Vine Grove, KY, substantial damage. Probable cause: Aircraft control was not maintained during initial climb with gusting wind that resulted in a collision with power lines and the terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
