## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT WAS CONDUCTING HIS LAST SCHEDULED SOLO FLIGHT OF 1.1 HOURS. WITNESSES STATE THAT THE HELICOPTER SEEMED TO BE EXPERIENCING ENGINE TROUBLE AS INDICATED BY THE ENGINE SOUNDS THEY COULD HEAR SUCH AS A "SPITTING AND SPUTTERING". THE AIRCRAFT TURNED AND CONTINUED APPROXIMATELY 750 FEET BEFORE THE ENGINE FAILURE OCCURRED, CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO DROP THROUGH A LARGE TREE IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA. AIRCRAFT WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED. LARGE TREE LIMBS AND DEBRIS WERE COVERING MUCH OF THE WRECKAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

Probable cause: A total loss of engine power due to fuel exhaustion. From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong.
