## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

IMMEDIATELY AFTER TAKE-OFF THE AIRCRAFT APPEARED TO YAW TO THE "LEFT" AND CONTINUE IN THE LEFT HAND TURN UNTIL 90 DEGREES FROM THE RUNWAY CENTER LINE. THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED EAST TOWARD THE RIDGELINE. IT'S CLIMB RATE WAS MINIMAL AS IT APPROACHED THE TREE LINE AND WAS NOT VERY HIGH ABOVE THE TREETOPS. THE AIRCRAFT DISAPPEARED FROM VIEW, A LOUD CRASH/THUMP SOUND WAS HEARD. AT THIS POINT THE AIRCRAFT CONTACTED THE GROUND INVERTED IN A WOODED AREA. THE AIRCRAFT WAS DESTROYED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA20LA207](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA20LA207), Jun 5, 2020: Quad City Challenger (N850RW), Wurtsboro, NY, substantial damage, 2 fatal. Probable cause: A loss of control after takeoff due to the pilot’s improper use of ballast weight. Contributing was the pilot’s decision to operate the airplane above its maximum gross weight.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
