## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

HELICOPTER WAS FERRYING PIPELINE TEAM APPROXMENTLY 3 MILES SE OF HOUMA AIRPORT WHEN IT INGESTED A SMALL BIRD INTO THE ENGINE.

THE PILOT REPORTED A LOUD WHINE BUT NO OTHER ABNORMAL INDICATIONS.

ACFT LANDED AT THE HOUMA AIRPORT AND AFTER INSPECTION DAMAGE WAS NOTICED IN ENGINE INLET.

AN ENGINE INSPECTION WAS CONDUCTED AND FOUND NO DAMAGE TO INLET BLADES. ENGINE WAS REPLACED AS A PRECAUTION.

NO OTHER SIGNS OF DAMAGE WERE REPORTED.

ENGINE POST REMOVAL INSPECTION REVEALED ONE BENT COMPRESSOR BLADE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
