## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE BEING VECTORED FOR A VISUAL APPROACH, THE FLIGHT CREW NOTICED A "FUEL SMELL" IN THE COCKPIT. THE FLIGHT CREW LOOKED BACK INTO THE CABIN AND NOTED SMOKE AS THE SMELL GREW STRONGER. THE FLIGHT CREW DONNED THEIR OXYGEN MASKS AND DECLARED AN EMERGENCY. THE FLIGHT LANDED ON RUNWAY 29 APPROXIMATELY 2 MINUTES AFTER DECLARING THE EMERGENCY AND EVACUATED THE 2 CREW AND 2 PASSENGERS ON THE TAXIWAY AFTER CLEARING THE RUNWAY. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS TOWED TO THE RAMP AND THE PASSENGERS WERE PICKED UP BY AN FBO VAN AND DRIVEN TO THE RAMP.

MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FUMES/SMOKE IN THE COCKPIT FROM THE APU OR FROM THE MAIN ENGINES THAT THE FLIGHT CREW EXPERIENCED. MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANS DID DISCOVERED UNRELATED ISSUES THAT NEEDED CORRECTION AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS FERRIED FROM BEDFORD, MA (BED) TO PORTLAND, ME (PWM) FOR THE REPAIRS. THE FLIGHT CREW REPORTED ALL SYSTEMS OPERATED NORMALLY AND THERE WERE NO FUMES OR SMOKE INTRODUCED INTO THE COCKPIT/CABIN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
