## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT WAS ON APPROACH TO TWIN BRIDGES AIRPORT WHEN A HAWK FLEW INTO HIS FLIGHT PATH. THE PILOT MANEUVERED AND THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK A FENCE THAT WAS ABOUT 800' FROM THE RUNWAY. THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR BROKE AND THE RIGHT PROPELLER STRUCK THE WIRE. THE PILOT CONDUCTED A GO-AROUND AND WENT TO BUTTE, MT TO LAND WITH FIRE SERVICES. UPON LANDING THE LEFT MAIN COLLAPSED AND THE AIRCRAFT SLID OFF THE RUNWAY TO THE LEFT, STRIKING MULTIPLE OBJECTS. SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR20CA183](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR20CA183), Jun 15, 2020: Cessna 310 (N87395), Butte, MT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain clearance from a fence post during final approach which resulted in a damage to the left main landing gear, and its subsequent collapse during landing.
