## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PART 91 FLIGHT DEPARTED HYANNIS, MA, HYA, ON AN IFR FLIGHT PLAN ENROUTE TO PUEBLO, CO, PUB, WITH INTERMEDIATE STOPS PLANNED AT TIFFIN, OH, 16G, AND GARNETT, KS, K68.

ONBOARD WERE THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ AND HIS WIFE. HAVING CANCELLED IFR, THE PILOT PERFORMED A VISUAL APPROACH AND MANEUVERED TO LAND AT GARNETT, KS, K68. HAVING OBSERVED THE WINDSOCK, WHICH INDICATED A DIRECT CROSSWIND OF 10 TO 15 KNOTS, THE PILOT ELECTED TO LAND ON RW1.

THE PILOT STATED THAT AS HE "NEARED FLARE ALTITUDE", THE WIND SHIFTED TO A TAILWIND AND "ACCELERATED US DOWN THE RUNWAY". THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN, THE PILOT APPLIED "FULL BRAKING AUTHORITY", BUT THE AIRCRAFT FAILED TO STOP BEFORE REACHING THE END OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE RUNWAY AT THE END AND ROLLED INTO A DITCH, COLLAPSING THE NOSE LANDING GEAR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
