## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THIS WAS THE AIRMAN'S SECOND FLIGHT IN THE AIRPLANE AND HE PLANNED TO DO A FEW TOUCH AND GOES AND THEN PREP FOR A LONG CROSS COUNTRY FLIGHT. THE PILOT PERFORMED ALL PREFLIGHT CHECKS AS NORMAL. ALL AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS WERE OPERATING NORMALLY. HE TAXIED ONTO THE RUNWAY AND SLOWLY ADVANCED THE POWER TO MAINTAIN THE RUNWAY CENTERLINE BY MINIMIZING TORQUE EFFECT AND P-FACTOR. AS HE ADVANCED THE THROTTLE THROUGH ~20 IN. HG. AND 50 KIAS THE AIRPLANE "GOT AWAY FROM" HIM AND HE COULDN'T MAINTAIN DIRECTIONAL CONTROL. THE AIRPLANE DEPARTED THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY AND CAME TO REST ON THE BROKEN LANDING GEAR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
