## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THIS WAS THE INITIAL FLIGHT AFTER A CONDITION INSPECTION AND ADS-B POST INSTALL FLIGHT.

THE PILOT STATED THIS WAS HIS FIRST FLIGHT IN THE AIRCRAFT IN APPROXIMATELY 8 MONTHS.

AT APPROXIMATELY 1,000 FEET AGL THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO RAISE THE GEAR BUT WAS HAVING DIFFICULTY SECURING THE GEAR IN THE UP-LOCK POSITION. AT THE SAME TIME, ATC HAD GIVEN THE PILOT A FREQUENCY CHANGE. THE NEW FREQUENCY WAS FULL OF STATIC AND DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND. THE PILOT DECIDED TO FLY THE AIRCRAFT AND WORRY ABOUT THE GEAR LATER.

IN PREPARATION FOR LANDING AT LOST PENINSULA MARINA, THE PILOT REACHED FOR HIS CHECKLIST, BUT COULD NOT LOCATE THE WATER LANDING CHECKLIST. NOT HAVING AN APPROPRIATE CHECKLIST, HE DECIDED TO DO THE LANDING FROM MEMORY. AS THE PLANE SETTLED INTO THE WATER THE NOSE STARTED TO GO FORWARD AND DIG DEEPER INTO THE WATER AND PLANE FLIPPED OVER.
