## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JULY 2, 2020 AT APPROXIMATELY 13:40 PST, N3086W CESSNA 185, S/N 18502042 WHILE ON LANDING ROLLOUT AT KMYF AIRPORT LOST DIRECTIONAL CONTROL AND FLIPPED THE AIRCRAFT WITH ONE PERSON ON BOARD. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO THE VERTICAL STABILIZER, BOTH WINGS, ENGINE COWLING AND PROPELLER. THERE WERE NO INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR20CA204](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR20CA204), Jul 2, 2020: Cessna A185 (N3086W), San Diego, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain airplane control during landing with a crosswind and excessive braking action, which resulted in the airplane nosing over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
