## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JULY 3, 2020 AT APPROXIMATELY 0830CDT, N8506E AN AIR TRACTOR AT-602 REGISTERED TO BELL?S AG SERVICE, INC AND OPERATED BY A COMMERCIAL RATED PILOT, EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF ENGINE POWER WHILE PERFORMING AERIAL SURVEILLANCE OF A FIELD PLANNED FOR AERIAL APPLICATION WITH APPROXIMATELY ONE HALF TO ONE QUARTER TANK OF FUEL REMAINING. THE PILOT WAS CIRCLING THE FIELD FOR THE SECOND TIME IN A 35 DEGREE BANK ANGLE WHEN LOSS OF POWER WAS EXPERIENCED, RESULTED IN AN OFF FIELD LANDING AND SUBSEQUENT COLLAPSE OF THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR, WITH THE AIRCRAFT COMING TO REST IN AN LEFT WING DOWN POSITION, RESULTING IN SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. THE PILOT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN20LA287](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN20LA287), Jul 3, 2020: Air Tractor AT 602 (N8506E), Des Arc, AR, substantial damage. Probable cause: A total loss of engine power for reasons that could not be determined from all available evidence.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
