## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE CESSNA 206 WAS FLYING FROM COEUR D?ALANE AIRPORT DOWN TO LEWISTON IDAHO AIRPORT, AND FLEW OVER LAKE COEUR D?ALANE WHEN IT COLLIDED WITH A DEHAVILAND BEAVER CONDUCTING SIGHTSEEING TOURS. THE AIRCRAFT WAS FLYING SOUTH DOWN THE LAKE, WHEN IT COLLIDED NEAR HALF ROUND BAY. EYEWITNESSES STATE THAT THE AIRCRAFTS WERE APPROXIMATELY 500-800 FEET OFF THE WATER. SOME WITNESSES STATED THAT THE 206 WAS FLYING A LITTLE BIT LOWER THAN THE BEAVER. BOTH AIRCRAFT WERE DESTROYED DURING THE ACCIDENT, AND ALL OCCUPANTS WERE FATALLY INJURED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR20FA206](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR20FA206), Jul 5, 2020: Cessna TU206 (N6373U), Coeur d'Alene, ID, destroyed, 8 fatal. Probable cause: The failure of the pilots of both airplanes to see and avoid the other airplane.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
