## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

N7186K A ROBINSON R22 ON JULY 8, 2020 WAS ON A LOCAL FLIGHT FROM AND TO THE VENICE, LOUISIANA AREA.

WHILE CONDUCTING AN AERIAL SURVEY IN STRAIGHT AND LEVEL FLIGHT AT APPROXIMATELY 30 FEET AGL, THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED A POWER FAILURE RESULTING IN AN EMERGENCY LANDING. AS THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN THE LEFT SKID SANK INTO THE SOFT GROUND CAUSING THE MAIN ROTOR BLADES AND TAIL CONE TO HIT THE GROUND. REMAINING FUEL ON BOARD, JUST OVER HALF (1/2) IN BOTH FUEL TANKS, NO POST-CRASH FIRE AND THE PILOT REPORTED NO INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN20LA282](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN20LA282), Jul 8, 2020: Robinson R22 (N7186K), Venice, LA, substantial damage. Probable cause: A partial loss of engine power for reasons that could not be determined based on available evidence.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
