## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT WAS ATTEMPTING TO LAND ON RUNWAY 22 AT KPGD, PUNTA GORDA AIRPORT. THE PILOT SAID THAT HE HAD ALREADY ATTEMPTED TO LAND ONCE, AND DID A GO-AROUND DUE TO THE WIND. THE SECOND TIME, THE PILOT FELT THAT THE WIND WAS MORE FAVORABLE AND CONTINUED THE APPROACH. WHILE IN THE FLARE, IT APPEARS THAT THE PILOT LEVELED THE WINGS AND REMOVED ALL CROSSWIND CORRECTION. THIS RESULTED IN THE AIRCRAFT DRIFTING TO THE LEFT. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED WITH THE LEFT MAIN WHEEL OFF THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO SHARPLY STEER THE AIRCRAFT BACK ONTO THE RUNWAY, WHICH CAUSED EXCESSIVE SIDE LOADING ON THE NOSE GEAR RESULTING IN THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
