## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

EVIDENCE INDICATES THAT UPON LANDING THE AIRCRAFT BELLY CAME IN CONTACT WITH THE RUNWAY CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE FUSELAGE SKINS, PROPELLER AND RH ELEVATOR. UNKNOWN IF LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED AFTER LANDING OR IF IT WAS NEVER EXTENDED.

- [Incident 19890514019139I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19890514019139I), May 14, 1989: Mooney M20G (N3938N), Nashville, TN, Minor damage. Manually operated gear handle broke off on retraction. Unable to lock gear down. Landed on partial extended gear.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
