## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

JUST AFTER DEPARTING RUNWAY 26, THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK A LARGE BIRD. THE PIC NOTIFIED ATC, RETURNED TO AIRPORT AND MADE AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING. INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT FOUND IT SUSTAINED DAMAGE (DENT) TO THE RIGHT WING LEADING EDGE. THE DENT IS LOCATED BETWEEN THE WING TIP AND FIRST LEADING EDGE RIB, IS APPROX. 2 IN. DEEP AND APPROX. 9 IN. IN LENGTH. AIRPORT OPERATIONS LOCATED AND RETREIVED DECEASED BIRD (BLUE HERON) ON RUNWAY 26.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
